Olive Spa Acupuncture offers wet cupping (Hijama) performed by Dr. Al-Dhabbi. Preferably the session is performed on the lunar calendar days of 17th, 19th and 21st. These are some of the Sunna days of Hijama. Modern science proved that on these days the brain swells 3 mm in size and causes a lot of tension, pressure and fire in the blood, and similarly in the behaviour of people. On these days, data analysis was collected that negative reactivity happens, as well as traffic accident; due to rage. It is on these days that it is best to perform Hijama to get the best filtration of the toxins in the stagnant blood.
Hijama is performed on any other day outside the known days for its health benefits in treating diseases.
For Sunna Hijama, It is performed quarterly (every three months).
For Disease Hijama, It is performed once monthly for 10 consecutive months—after which the treatment is stopped 3 months. And can be initiated quarterly to be transitioned into Sunna Hijama to prevent the built up of toxins in the blood.
Prior to Hijama is a thorough medical and dietary consultation—as there are strict rules to follow prior to the Hijama and after the session.
Patients using blood thinners for example, will be required to contact their physician to be informed. Patient with clotting disorders, and blood disorders are also required to follow medical protocols.
Patients who are anemic or suspected to have anemia are not allowed to have Hijama. Hemoglobin levels must be 10 and above, to carry out Hijama.
Dietary measures are to be followed as well. Patients are asked not to eat meat and dairy products for 48 hours prior to and after treatment for maximum health benefit. Should they consume a small amount, they are to have a spoon of apple cider vinegar mixed in a a table spoon of olive oil, and to be used as a dip, or a salad dressing.
Hijama is performed on an empty stomach 3-8 hours of fast. Patient is allowed to have water and a small snack, such a dates. Preferably 3 hours prior to the Hijama Session.
The procedure is about 20 min long & 20 min is good to rest before departure.
